Smash City has openings for talented athletes and Badminton-loving youngsters ages 7 and up to join our Elite Teams.  Commitment is required as training is multiple times per week.  Elite Team members need intense desire to improve your game and win at tournaments.  Junior Elite Team members enjoy Badminton more than any other sport.  To be considered for Elite Team, email eliteteam@smashcity.net.

Training for all ages and playing experience

Training classes for all ages and playing experience are available Saturday afternoons and most evenings.  Maximum 8 students per class.  Please contact training@smashcity.net for more information.

Basic checklist for first-time Smash City visitors:

Ö For your safety, bring clean, nonmarking Court Shoes & change into them to play at Smash City

Ö If you are not yet 18 years old, be sure to come with a parent or guardian

Ö Use our Directions!  We can be a little difficult to find on your first visit.  We’re inside a business park, and Google, Mapquest, etc. will mislead you

Ö There are no in & out privileges during Drop-in play

Ö Your children must be under your supervision at all times

Ö Sorry, pets are not allowed in Smash City

See you on the courts soon!

Smash City has opportunities for part-time work!

Availability Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and/or Friday daytime required.  Must enjoy working with people.  Experience and/or interest in customer service, sales, and club operations is required.  Knowledge of badminton products, racquet stringing, etc. is a plus but not essential.  For immediate consideration, email your resume to jobs@smashcity.net.

Memberships Available

Smash City has Individual, Couple/Buddy, and Family Membership plans available providing unlimited play (unless an event such as the Smashing Doubles Tournament is scheduled).  Membership can be either month-to-month or on a term commitment.  More information will be posted here soon.  In the meantime, please visit Smash City for details.

Please note:  Street shoes and shoes that leave marks are not allowed on our courts.  Be sure to bring and change into court shoes.  The simplest way to be sure your court shoes will not leave marks is if they have NO BLACK SOLES!  The exception is shoes that specifically say they are nonmarking.  This designation may appear on the tongue, sole, or the side of the shoe.  The Smash City Pro Shop sells non-marking Badminton shoes.  Please help us keep our courts in the best condition for everyone’s enjoyment.  Thanks!

Please email us at info@smashcity.net to let us know how we can best serve you, and to join our mailing list.

We’re working hard to bring the very best Badminton experience to YOU!!

Smash City is very proud of a significant milestone in our brief history and another step upward for U.S. Badminton:

Dedication to Badminton Produces Opportunity!

Smash City Elite Team member Lauren Todt has received and accepted an offer to represent Skagen Badmintonklub of Denmark during their 2008-2009 season.  Lauren will compete for Skagen against other Denmark clubs to help Skagen rise to the next Division within the Danish Badminton system.  While in Denmark Lauren will train at the new Frederikshavn Badminton Academy as she looks toward the 2012 Olympic Games.

Lauren’s opportunity is the result of many years of hard work, training, traveling, and competition.

Lauren was practically born on the courts as she was taken to the gym before she could walk.  Following her older brother Andrew, she took to Badminton immediately.  Lauren wanted to hit constantly and fortunately Badminton has plenty of wonderful adults who enjoyed helping her.  Lauren was never shy nor afraid to challenge older kids and adults – she just wanted to play!

Lauren began formal training at age 9 and has trained continuously ever since.  She has been fortunate to have wonderful coaches who not only taught her Badminton, but kept it fun all along.

In her Junior years, Lauren competed in both Pan Am and World Junior Championships in Peru, Canada, and Korea.  At the Adult level, Lauren has represented the U.S. in Pan Am, Sudirman, and Uber Cup Championships in Canada, Scotland, Japan, and Indonesia.  She has also competed in a number of other countries, making many new friends along the way.

“I’m thrilled to be able to compete and train in Denmark where so many great players have come from.  I’m very grateful to my family, Smash City, coaches, and everyone else who has helped me”, says Lauren.  “I hope others will be able to get chances to pursue their dreams and see their training pay off too”.
